Brussel Sprouts,Cabbage and Kale are on their way out

Brussels Sprouts are a member of the cabbage family.  They need a lot of space and time. As the warmer weather approaches, get ready for a nasty critter called the “bagrada.” They will invade all plants in the brassica family.   Kale, cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli are in this family. The bugs will wreak havoc unless you carefully time your planting and harvest. All except kale requires a lot of space.  They all need longer periods of grow with the exception of kale.  We plant them away from our main garden.  The bugs have been eradicated using a mixture of neem oil, soap and lemon gras mix.
